Said the Waterside Councillor: “A report published by HMICFRS, an official inspectorate, into the use of stop and search by the PSNI has identified a number of problems.
“This includes inadequate record keeping, inconsistencies in training and shortcomings in the quality of external scrutiny.
“Work by the Children’s Law Centre, Include Youth and Queen’s University has highlighted the impact of stop and search on young people here.
“Clearly greater scrutiny, as recommended in this report, must include young people.”
