He has urged Social Enterprises to apply to the fund which will run from 28th September to 23rd October 2020.
Said the Foyle MLA: “I am pleased that following long-overdue support for the Charity Sector, that this funding has now been available for Social Enterprises of all sizes.
“Social Enterprises which were excluded from previous support packages can now avail of grants of up to £75,000 through this scheme.
“The intention of this fund is primarily to help SEs directly impacted by the pandemic to stabilise and manage cash flows.
“The Sector has suffered massively throughout this pandemic and it disappointing that they have been left until now without this crucial support.
“Creating positive change within our communities, is at the heart of these organisations.
“It is essential they receive continued support so they can keep their doors open, keep providing their invaluable services and to prevent any potential detriment to the wider community.
“These funds will provide much needed financial assistance to those organisations within the Sector previously locked out of other Executive packages,” added Mr Durkan.
