The Foyle MLA said: “Local learner drivers will be delighted that theory test certificates are to be extended again, meaning that those who have had practical tests cancelled will not face having to retake their theory.
“If your certificate was extended by 8 months previously, you’ll get another 4 months extension.
“If your certificate expires for the first time from November 1 and June 30, 2021, you will get an 8 month extension.
“This is another example of an SDLP Minister doing all that she can to minimise disruption to people’s lives during this pandemic while, at the same time, keeping them safe.
“Throughout the pandemic, Minister Mallon has shown what is possible when you work hard in government to deliver for people.
“That has been the SDLP approach and we’ll continue working hard for local people.”
