SINN Féin’s Martina Anderson has called for Invest NI to put a dedicated investment strategy in place for Derry.
Speaking after a cross-party meeting with Invest NI’s north west regional team, the Foyle MLA said: “Derry needs a tailored InvestNI investment strategy, where financial resources are ring fenced to tackle regional inequalities, deprivation and create decent jobs for the people of Derry.
“In the context of the massive economic damage that COVID has unleashed on our city, a Derry focused approach is desperately needed.
“Invest NI must also change its own corporate culture and properly market Derry and its people to international investors as the gateway into the north west
“To deliver this the Economy Minister needs to direct resources into the Invest NI Office in Derry so that it is capable of properly directing financial resources to where they are most needed.”
