His remains are now reposing at the family home.

An appeal for help from Mr Doherty’s father, Gleann was met with a huge response as large numbers of people joined the search along the banks of the River Foyle for the missing man.
News that his body was recovered was confirmed on Sunday afternoon by Mr Doherty’s cousin, Aoife Moore, a political reporter with the Irish Examiner newspaper.
In a post on Twitter, Ms Moore said: “Foyle Search and Rescue found Conchúr’s body earlier today.
“We’ll be forever grateful to them for all they did for us.
“Thank you to everyone who volunteered and messaged our family.”
An Irish language enthusiast, Mr Doherty was a founding pupil at Irish medium primary school Gaelscoil na Daroige.
A spokesman for the school paid tribute to Mr Doherty.
“The confidence, vigour and positivity of the first class proved the driving force behind the growth and success of the school.
“Conchúr was an extremely pleasant pupil with an infectious sense of humour and he demonstrated the ethos of the school by speaking Gaeilge fluently and with pride.
“We will remain forever proud and grateful of having such a great pupil.”
An appeal for help to fund the search for Mr Doherty’s body through a GoFundMe page was also met with a generous response.
Organiser Claire McLaughlin revealed that a target of £4,000 was reached within days of its launch.
