POLICE have praised the actions of staff at a takeaway in Derry who detained a man after a robbery.
He has since appeared in court, charged and remanded in custody.
Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Officers from the Reducing Offending Unit at Strand Road have acknowledged the actions shown by staff at a takeaway premises in the city who were subjected to a robbery on Sunday, December 6.
“Staff were able to detain the suspect until police arrived.
“A male has since been charged and remanded in custody.
“Cash was recovered as a result of the investigation and will be returned to the rightful owner.”
