POLICE in Co Derry have arrested two drunk drivers while out patrol in the early hours of this morning.
One of the vehicles ended up on its roof by the reckless and dangerous driver in Magherafelt.
Police Mid-Ulster say on its Facebook page: “Another night and yet another drunk driver arrested, crews are currently picking up the pieces of this mess on the Magherafelt Road.
“Thankfully no one killed, although you do wonder how.
“As well as drunk he doesn’t have a full driving licence so shouldn’t be on the road.
“He’s been arrested for motoring offences as well as for the drink driving.
“We’re still catching high numbers of drunk drivers on a weekly basis, individuals who clearly care little for the lives of friends, family or neighbours.
“Wise up.”
Not long after this incident another police crew came across a second drunk driver.
Police Mid-Ulster added: “Earlier we had a drunk on his roof, crews out patrolling have just caught another one, this time he was going sideways.
“Attempted to make off on foot across the fields but was no match for the dog.
“Hunted and found, another drunk into the cells.
“He’s also been arrested for a multitude of driving offences along with the drink driving.”
