THE Department of Health has reported a further 1,985 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
There have been a further 13 deaths (four outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals, to 1,397.
Sadly, one of those deaths have been recorded in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 12,144 new cases of Coronavirus – up from 4.515 in the seven days prior to this week.
There has been a further 147 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours.
Within the past week there have been a further 1,013 COVID-19 cases.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 9,673 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 101 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupany across all hospitals is now up to 102 per cent.
There are currently 592 patiens in hospital with Coronavirus, with 46 patients currently in intensive care and 37 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 132 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 431 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
