THE Department of Health has announced a further 1,410 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
There have been a further 17 deaths (three outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals, to 1,414.
Sadly, two of those deaths have been recorded in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 11,287 new cases of Coronavirus – up from 4.515 in the seven days prior to this week.
There has been a further 101 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a fall of 36 on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 912 COVID-19 cases.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 9,774 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 103 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupany across all hospitals is now up to 103 per cent.
There are currently 599 patiens in hospital with Coronavirus, with 44 patients currently in intensive care and 32 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 133 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 433 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
