THE Department of Health has reported further 1,500 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
There have been a further 20 deaths (none outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals, to 1,434.
Sadly, one of those deaths have been recorded in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 11,075 new cases of Coronavirus – up from 4.515 in the seven days prior to this week.
There has been a further 75 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a fall on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 813 COVID-19 cases.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 9,849 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 104 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupany across all hospitals is now down to 99 per cent.
There are currently 641 patiens in hospital with Coronavirus, with 45 patients currently in intensive care and 36 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 137 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 435 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
