THE Department of Health has announced a further 1,442 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
There have been a further nine deaths (none outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 1,443.
None of those deaths have been recorded in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 11,298 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 89 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a small rise on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 797 COVID-19 cases.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 9,939 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 104 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now down to 97 per cent.
There are currently 674 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 47 patients currently in intensive care and 33 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 137 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 435 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
