THE Department of Health has announced a further 713 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 73 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further 24 deaths (seven outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 1,649.
Sadly, one of these deaths has been recorded in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 6,092 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 34 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of eight on figures for Sunday.
Within the past week there have been a further 273 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 10,395 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 115 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 97 per cent.
There are currently 842 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 70 patients currently in intensive care and 57 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 137 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 461 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
