THE Department of Health has announced a further 865 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 133 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further 12 deaths (two outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 1,704.
None of these deaths have been recorded in the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 5,534 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 45 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of seven on figures for Tuesday.
Within the past week there have been a further 253 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 10,507 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 116 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 94 per cent.
There are currently 828 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 72 patients currently in intensive care and 52 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 129 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 475 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
