THE Department of Health has announced a further 426 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 29 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further 19 deaths (three outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 1,850.
Sadly, two of these latest deaths have been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 3,811 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 21 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of four for figures reported for Friday.
Within the past week there have been a further 148 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 10,684 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 125 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 90 per cent.
There are currently 731 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 69 patients currently in intensive care and 56 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 127 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 491 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
