SINN Féin’s Martina Anderson has welcomed confirmation from Finance Minister Conor Murphy that his department will be flexible in the allocation of funding for individual City Deal Projects.
Said the Foyle MLA: “I welcome confirmation from Finance Minister Conor Murphy that his department will be flexible in the allocation of funding for individual City Deal projects.
“This is welcome news for Derry and Strabane and other City Deal partners as it means projects will be able to go ahead without delay.
“I expect that the process to develop Heads of Terms for the Derry City Deal will be completed.
“This will allow the council, Ulster University and other partners to start developing their transformational education, tourism and infrastructural projects.
“These are exciting times for Derry and I will continue to work with the Finance Minister and City Deal partners to see progress continue.”
