Said Councillor Burke: “I have received confirmation that the walkway between Westway and Glenowen will be closed next week to facilitate essential maintenance work, which will start on Monday.
“This work will include the removal of the stone structures that have acted as a magnet for elements of anti-social behaviour in the past, particularly during the summer months.
“This work has come about as a result of lobbying council on behalf of residents that my colleague Kevin Campbell started a number of years ago and I have been consistently lobbying for since.
“I am glad to see the commencement of this work and hope it eases the pressures on residents as we come into the summer months.”
