SINN Fein politicians are to raise concerns from residents over the ongoing development works at Nazareth House in Derry.
Said Foyle MLA Karen Mullan: “In the past few days Councillor Patricia Logue and I have been contacted by residents in the Bishop Street area with a number of complaints in relation to residents parking, the flow of traffic and state of the roadway due to ongoing building work at the former Nazareth House site.
“We knew when this work was to start in earnest that there would be problems due to the scale of this project and ongoing issues with traffic in this area which has been very well published in recent years.
“And we have held meetings with the Housing Association behind this project to try resolve issues presented to us in the past.
“We will once again be seeking an urgent meeting with the developers, Housing Association and the residents who have contacted us to try to get these problems ironed out as a matter of urgency.
“Patricia and I met Choice Housing and the contractor the week before Christmas, and represented issues facing residents.
“They agreed to carry out a clean-up and took onboard the concerns with a view to reduce the impact on residents.
“It is very disappointing now to see that those have got worse for residents and we will be raising this with them.”
