Mullan: Extend vaccinations to early years staff

SINN Féin’s Education spokespersoKaren Mullan has called on the Education Minister to consider extending the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccination to staff in nursery and early years settings.

Said the Foyle MLA: “Babies and very young children require a level of close personal care.

“During the current health emergency, staff working with children in nursery and early years settings face additional safety challenges.

“The Minister of Education recently requested priority vaccination for staff who are providing personal care to pupils attending Special Schools.

“I am calling for further consideration of vaccination for staff in nursery and early years settings who provide similar personal care.”
