THE Department of Health has announced a further 297 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 44 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further six deaths (none outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 2,015.
None of these latest deaths have been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 2,047 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 20 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of seven on figures reported for Monday.
Within the past week there have been a further 117 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 10,995 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 115 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 97 per cent.
There are currently 434 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 53 patients currently in intensive care and 45 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 53 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 581 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
