THE Department of Health has announced a further 313 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 29 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further five deaths (one outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 2,026.
None of these latest deaths has been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 2,072 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 17 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of five on figures reported for Wednesday.
Within the past week there have been a further 103 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,024 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 130 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 95 per cent.
There are currently 403 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 33 patients currently in intensive care and 41 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 47 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 588 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
