THE Department of Health has announced a further 263 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 13 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further four deaths (none outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 2,029.
None of these latest deaths has been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 2,140 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 25 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of 15 on figures reported for Thursday.
Within the past week there have been a further 120 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,048 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 130 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now down to 93 per cent.
There are currently 394 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 49 patients currently in intensive care and 40 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 47 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 588 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
