THE Department of Health has report a further 260 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 35 cases on the previous day.
There have been a further two deaths (none outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 2,043.
Sadly, one of these latest deaths has been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 1,884 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 19 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a a rise of six on figures reported for Monday.
Within the past week there have been a further 109 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,100 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 131 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 98 per cent.
There are currently 356 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 44 patients currently in intensive care and 35 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 38 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 599 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
