It follows a number of large trees becoming dislodged and falling down onto the Lonemoor Road facing homes on Elmwood Terrace.
Said Cllr Logue: “Over the past year a number of large trees have fallen from the elevated height at West End Park down onto the Lonemoor Road.
“It has been extremely concerning as this is a very busy main arterial route for motorists into the city centre, the footpath which is directly below these trees is also busy with pedestrians all the time.
“I have been working with my party colleague Karen Mullan MLA to try and get this issue resolved plus also ensuring that the trees are well cut back because there are natural light problems to the front of homes in West End Park.
“So, residents will be pleased to see this work taking place.”
