THE Department of Health has reported a further 149 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of nine cases on figures given for Sundday.
There have been a further two deaths (none outside the current reporting period) from the deadly virus bringing the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, to 2,059.
None of these latest deaths have been recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 1,440 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 12 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a rise of three on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 115 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,189 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 132 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 94 per cent.
There are currently 289 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 34 patients currently in intensive care and 30 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 25 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 6123concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
