POLICE Derry City and Strabane say its officer were involved in a cross border operation with Gardai to detect criminals and motorists under the influence of either drink or drugs.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers across the District were part of a joint agency cross border operation focusing on reducing crime in border areas yesterday.
“As a result of our vehicle check points we made one arrest for drink/drug driving, two detections for no insurance, and we seized one vehicle.
“We also carried out several vehicle searches relating to drugs.
“This operation is just one in a series in partnership with An Garda Síochána demonstrating our commitment to keeping everyone safe on both sides of the border.”
