THE Department of Health has announced a further 164 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 43 cases on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
There has been one further death from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,100.
This latest death was not recorded in the Dery City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 1,208 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 13 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a slight rise of two on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 79 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,342 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 134 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 96 per cent.
There are currently 176 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 18 patients currently in intensive care and 14 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of 13 care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 629 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
