THE Department of Health has reportwed a further 125 more cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 34 cases on figures given yesterday for Friday.
There has been one further death from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now remaining at 2,104.
Sadly, this latest death was recorded in the Derry City and Strabane Distric Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 1,072 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 16 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a fall of two on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 111 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,424 positive cases within the council boundary.
The Department has now recorded a total of 135 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils in the North of Ireland.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 96 per cent.
There are currently 158 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, with 14 patients currently in intensive care and 13 patients who are on ventilators.
A total of eight care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 634 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
