THE Department of Health has announced a further 113 cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 15 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been two further deaths (one outside the curretn reporting period) from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,125.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 553 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 15 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council in the past 24 hours, a fall of three cases on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 85 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,796 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The Department has recorded a total of 135 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all 11 councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 102 cent.
There are currently 99 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, ten of whom are being treated in intensive care with nine patients on ventilators.
A total of five care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 645 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
