THE Department of Health has announced a further 112 cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 15 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
There has been no further deaths from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,129.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 774 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 24 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a rise of nine on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 146 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area – the highest number of new cases in any of the 11 council’s here.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,890 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The Department has recorded a total of 135 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 99 cent.
There are currently 77 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, seven of whom are being treated in intensive care with five patients on ventilators.
A total of five care homes are dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 645 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
