THE Department of Health has reported a further 119 cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 40 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been one further death from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,133.
This latest death was not reported in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 824 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 26 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a rise of six on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 170 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area – the highest number of new cases in any of the 11 council’s here.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 11,961 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area is now up to 112.8 cases per 100,000, the highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 135 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now down to 98 per cent from 103 per cent previously.
There are currently 69 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, nine of whom are being treated in intensive care with five patients on ventilators.
Four care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, a rise of one in the past 24 hours, with a further 647 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
