THE Department of Health has announced a further 116 cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of eight on figures given yesterday for Monday.
There has been one further death from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,137.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 808 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 30 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a fall of one on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 179 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area – the highest number of new cases in any of the 11 council’s here.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 12,087 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area is now up to 118.8 cases per 100,000, the highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 135 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 100 per cent.
There are currently 59 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, nine of whom are being treated in intensive care with six patients on ventilators.
Three care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, a rise of one on the previous day, with a further 649 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
