THE Department of Health has reported a further 109 cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 36 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
There have been no further deaths from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,143.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 670 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 14 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a rise of eight on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 102 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 12,152 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area is now at 67.7 cases per 100,000, the second highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 9 per cent.
There are currently 62 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, five of whom are being treated in intensive care with three patients on ventilators.
Four care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 650 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
