THE Department of Health has announced a further 95 cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of three on figures given yesterday for Tuesday.
There has been one further death from the deadly virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,144.
This latest death was not recorded in the Derry City and Strabane Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 625 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 24 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a rise of one on the previous day.
Within the past week there have been a further 104 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 12,199 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area is now at 69 cases per 100,000, the highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 100 per cent.
There are currently 61 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, eight of whom are being treated in intensive care with four patients on ventilators.
Four care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 651 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
