THE Department of Health has announced a further 76 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 22 on figures given yesterday for Saturday.
There has been no further deaths from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,147.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 639 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 23 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a rise of ten on figures given on Friday for Thursday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 134 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 12,415 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area is now at 88.9 cases per 100,000, the highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now down to 99 per cent.
There are currently 57 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
Six patients are being treated in intensive care with three patients on ventilators.
Five care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 652 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
