THE Department of Health has reported a further 89 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 13 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
There has been one further death from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,148.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 638 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 25 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area in the past 24 hours, a rise of two on figures given on the previous 24 hours.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 140 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
That means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 12,440 positive cases within the council boundary – the fourth highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane council area is now up to 92.9 cases per 100,000, the highest in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals remains at 99 per cent.
There are currently 56 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
Three patients are being treated in intensive care with three patients on ventilators.
Five care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 652 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
