A MAJOR new investment at St. Columb’s Park announced by Sinn Féin Minister Deirdre Hargey has been welcomed by local Councillor Christopher Jackson.
The Sinn Féin councillor was commenting after the £230,000 regeneration project was confirmed with funding from the Department for Communities, the Executive Office and the local council.
He said: “This investment will see the creation of a new pedestrian entrance to St Columb’s Park from Ebrington.
“The car park will also be resurfaced and realigned to allow for disabled parking and a new pedestrian pathway, crossing points and enhanced landscaping will be created.
“This will greatly improve access, pedestrian safety and the overall experience of visiting one of the city’s most popular attractions.
“I have no doubt that this latest regeneration package will be greatly welcomed.”
