THE Department of Health has reported a further 143 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 28 on figures given yesterday for Monday.
There has been no further deaths from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,155.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 765 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 45 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, that is a rise of 23 on figures given yesterday for Monday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 164 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 13,018 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has now risen to 108.8 cases per 100,000, which is still the highest in the North of Ireland.
And the Derry and Strabane infection rate is currently higher than any region in England.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 103 per cent.
There are currently 16 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
There are no patients being treated in intensive care and no patients are on ventilators.
Two care homes are still dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 658 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
