THE Department of Health has reported a further 178 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of one on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been no further deaths from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,155.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 906 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 47 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, that is a fall of nine on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 226 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 13,121 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has now risen up to 150 cases per 100,000, the highest of any council in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded to date a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 100 per cent.
There are currently 16 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
There are no patients being treated in intensive care and no patients are on ventilators.
Three care homes are still dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, a rise of one in the past 24 hours, with a further 658 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
