THE Department of Health has announced a further 375 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 97 on figures given yesterday for Monday.
There has been no further deaths from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,155.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 1,852 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 157 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, that is a rise of 91 on figures given yesterday for Monday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 417 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 13,713 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has risen to 275.6 cases per 100,000, the highest of any council in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now up to 103 per cent.
There are currently 20 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, a rise of one on the previous 24 hours.
There are two patients being treated in intensive care with two patients on ventilators.
Four care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 660 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
