THE Department of Health has announced a further 339 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a rise of 13 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been one further death from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,156.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 2,007 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 74 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, that is a rise of 15 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 452 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 13,846 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has risen to 298.8 cases per 100,000, the highest of any council in the North of Ireland.
The Department has recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 101 per cent.
There are currently 26 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, a rise of five on the previous 24 hours.
There are two patients being treated in intensive care with one patient on a ventilator.
Four care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 660 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
