THE Department of Health has reported a further 605 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 22 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been no further deaths from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, which remains at 2,156.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 3,432 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 88 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, that is a fall of five on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 563 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 14,449 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has reduced slightly to 372.1 cases per 100,000, the highest of any council in the North of Ireland.
The Department has to date recorded a total of 136 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 104 per cent.
There are currently 60 patients in hospital with Coronavirus, a rise of 12 on the previous 24 hours.
There is one patient being treated in intensive care with no patients on a ventilator.
Nine care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, a rise of one on the previous day, with a further 660 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
