THE Department of Health has reported a further 1,138 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 638 on figures given yesterday for Sunday.
There has been one further death from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,164.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 7,982 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 73 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, a fall of 84 on figures given yesterday for Monday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 727 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 15,467 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has risen to 480.6 cases per 100,000, the highest of any council in the North of Ireland.
The Department has to date recorded a total of 138 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 103 per cent.
There are currently 118 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
There are six patients being treated in intensive care with two patients on a ventilator.
Forty care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, a rise of 14 on figures given yesterday for Sunday, with a further 661 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
