THE Department of Health has reported a further 1,337 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 93 cases on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been one further death from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,167.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 9,393 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 70 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, a fall of 81 on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 809 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 15,893 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has fallen slightly to 534.8 cases per 100,000, the third highest of the 11 council districts in the North of Ireland with Belfast first with 814.7 cases per 100,000 and Newry, Mourne and Down Council in second with 555.8 cases per 100,000.
The Department has to date recorded a total of 138 coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 102 per cent.
There are currently 163 patients in hospital with Coronavirus.
There are 16 patients being treated in intensive care with eight patients on a ventilator.
Fifty-two care homes are still dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 662 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
