A 15 year old male arrested following an incident at the Clon Elagh area of Derry/Londonderry on Wednesday 28th July has been freed from police custody.
The teenager has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.
He was arrested over the assualt on a 14-year-old.
Police said that shortly after midnight on Wednesday, it was reported that two males were causing damage to the front door of a property in the area.
A spokesperson said: “Upon arrival of police, it was reported that a 14 year old male was believed to have been assaulted and received injuries to his head. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
“A short time later, a 15 year old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.”
