The head of the Royal College of Midwives received threats and online abuse for urging pregnant women to get vaccinated after hospitals here reported seeing “really sick pregnant women” being admitted for treatment to the effects of Coronavirus.
The local health spokesperson said: “These threats and online abuse directed at the head of the Royal College of Midwives are wrong and I condemn them.
“No one should have to face threats, abuse or intimidation while going about their business.
“There can be no place for such threats in our society.”
