THE Department of Health has reported a further 1,434 Coronavirus cases in the North of Ireland in the last 24 hours.
That’s a fall of 207 cases on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
There has been four further deaths from the virus with the death toll, mostly in hospitals across the North, now at 2,213.
None of these latest deaths were recorded in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
In the past week, the Department has recorded 8,229 new cases of Coronavirus.
There has been a further 172 positive cases in the Derry City and Strabane District Council area, a rise of nine on figures given yesterday for Wednesday.
Over the past seven days there have been a further 787 COVID-19 cases in the Derry and Strabane area.
This means that since the pandemic started in March there have now been 17,514 positive cases within the council boundary – the third highest among all 11 councils in the North.
The rate of infection within the Derry and Strabane Council area has risen to 520.2.1 cases per 100,000, the second highest of the 11 council districts in the North of Ireland.
The Department has now recorded a total of 143 Coronavirus deaths within the Derry and Strabane council area to date – the third lowest out of all councils here.
Bed occupancy across all hospitals is now at 100 per cent.
There are currently 226 patients in hospitals across the North with Coronavirus.
There are 37 patients being treated in intensive care with 28 patients on ventilators.
One hundred and six care homes are now dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak with a further 676 concluded Coronavirus outbreaks in care homes.
Twelve care homes in the Western Trust area are currently dealing with a Coronavirus outbreak.
