In a bid to drive down hospital admissions, the ‘Big Jab’ weekend is well underway in Derry.
Queues have formed at the mass vaccination centre in the Foyle Arena which opened this morning at 9 am and continues to 7 pm this evening.
The ‘Big Jab’ continues tomorrow, Sunday, August 22 and will open from 9 am to 7 pm.
Priority is being given to those who are receiving their second vaccination.
Mayor of Derry and Strabane Council, Alderman Graham Warke, has tweeted: “Great to see queues at the Foyle Arena for the @WesternHSCTrust #BigJabWeekend.
“Remember they are open until 7pm at Foyle Arena.”
To date, 2,401,296 vaccines have been administered in total across the North of Ireland.
