A mouth-watering selection of the City’s ever growing street food offering will be showcased at a pop up event on September 4th and 5th in the Cathedral Car Park in London Street.
The LegenDerry Street Food Pop Up forms part of the ‘Cathedral Quarter Weekend’ which includes a range of street entertainment and animation in the city’s Cathedral Quarter offering the opportunity to enjoy its charming historic streets and shops completely traffic free.
The Pop Up is the latest initiative hosted by the LegenDerry Food Network and aims to bring together some of the cities most renowned street food businesses each day from midday-6pm
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Graham Warke, urged local people to take a trip to the Cathedral Quarter next weekend.
“The LegenDerry Street Food Pop Up will serve up a unique dining experience for foodies seeking authentic local cuisine in one of the city’s most atmospheric and beautiful streets,” he said.
“The Cathedral Quarter hosts some of the best restaurants and cafes in the City and District who will also be offering alfresco menus and dining options over the weekend so you will be spoiled for choice.”
LegenDerry Food was set up by Derry City and Strabane District Council and the private sector in February 2019 to bring forward ambitious plans to build on the North West’s unique food offering as part of the wider Food and Drink Strategy for the Council area.
The network committee involves local representatives from across the local food and drink sector working in collaboration to deliver the actions of the strategy and showcase the positive work being done within the local food industry.
The weekend events will also see the return of In Your Space’s Carnival of Colours to city centre streets, the Walled City Market and some LegenDerry Street Food Events on London Street.
