DETECTIVES investigating a shooting incident in the Fern Park area of Galliagh, Derry, on the evening of Friday 20 August, have carried out a planned search of a house in the Derry area this evening, Saturday, August 28.
Up to a dozen members of the INLA walked to a memorial for INLA hunger striker Mickey Devine when two masked men fired a volley of shots from assault rifles to mark the 40th anniversary of his death.
One man has been arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act in relation to the shooting incident.
Detective Inspector McKenna said: “A number of items were seized and a 30-year-old man was arrested under the Terrorism Act.
“He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Musgrave Police Station for questioning.”
