A MAN is in custody at Strand Road police station in Derry over a Class B drugs seizure.
Police Derry City and Strabane say: “Last night the local Tactical Support Group officers conducted a vehicle checkpoint in the Culmore Road area and stopped a car for a routine traffic offence.
“On speaking to the driver, an officer sensed the strong smell of herbal cannabis.
“The officer decided to carry out a search for drugs and a large quantity of suspected cannabis was recovered from the car.
“The driver is currently assisting Police with their enquries.”
